University study finds Newbery awards for children's books increasingly lack diversity
In "Bud, Not Buddy," author Christopher Paul Curtis tells the story of a Depression-era black boy in Flint, Mich. The book won the Newbery Medal, the top prize in children's literature, eight years ago.
