Nearly 35,000 get UC holiday present The University of California paid more than $33 million in court-ordered refunds last month, giving thousands of former students up to $12,000 at the best possible time.
The Concord Transcript welcomes letters to the editor and guest columns on coverage or community issues. Letters must be 300 words or less, and guest columns must be 600 words or less; each reflects only the opinion of the writer. All correspondence must include the writer's first and last names, address and daytime phone number, and are subject to verification, editing and condensation. Not all letters or columns will be published. Submission deadline is 10 a.m. Friday.
